Professional Development

The value of continuing education and professional development has never been more important than now. HR and total rewards professionals will need to ensure their organization’s total rewards portfolio attract and retain the key talent needed to drive performance and culture. Partnering with WorldatWork, CBN is committed to providing total rewards professionals within our community the tools, resources, professional development and certification opportunities required for success! CBN members receive the deepest discount off of the WorldatWork member and non-member costs.

CBN Scholarships for Members

CBN will cover the cost of one, WorldatWork-sponsored course hosted by CBN in St. Louis for up to two members per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). These Scholarships are provided to any member who is not otherwise reimbursed by their company. Requests for one of the Scholarships are typically made in July/August (awarded in September), and again in January/February for another Scholarship (awarded February/March).

If interested, simply submit a brief (1-2 paragraph) email to the President providing reasons for requesting a Scholarship. CBN's Board will review all submissions to determine the recipients. Following registration for the course, the Scholarship recipients will provide CBN with a paid invoice from WorldatWork, and CBN will reimburse the recipients for the cost of the WorldatWork-sponsored course hosted by CBN. This is another benefit of membership and reinforces CBN's dedication to professional development of its members and giving back to the profession.

Preferred Tuition Rate Program for CBN Members

CBN provides another valuable benefit for our members! We have partnered with Webster University to offer our members and member companies with a Corporate Partner Preferred Tuition Rate. Details of the Preferred Tuition Rate Program include:

  •  No application fee
  • Tuition is 80% of prevailing rate, paid by the employee
  • Tuition reimbursement may be used in conjunction with the preferred rate (a savings to both employees and the company)

    VARIABLE PAY:  IMPROVING PERFORMANCE WITH VARIABLE PAY

    Master Variable Pay Plans that Support Your Organization's Business Objectives

    Variable pay compensation can improve employee motivation and performance along with positively impacting your organization’s goals for profitability and productivity. This course will teach you the fundamentals of variable pay with a focus on compensation strategy. 

    In this course you will cover: 

    • Identifying common business strategies and objectives for achieving them.
