President's Message

I hope everyone is enjoying another St. Louis summer!  Fresh off the heels of the WorldatWork conference, I’m eager (and nervous!) to begin this new endeavor to serve as your President of CBN - something I always told myself I would not do, but now that it’s upon me, I’m elated to get started!  

Speaking of the WorldatWork conference – what an amazing experience!  Personally, the highlight of my conference experience was attending the Local Network Leadership Conference that occurred the day before the full WorldatWork Conference.  It was an energizing full day session with other leaders from local associations around the U.S. and Canada.  We were able to network with peers, exchange best practices, ideas and trends and hear what the plans are for WorldatWork from President & CEO Scott Cawood.  It was exciting to hear about how other organizations support and meet the needs of their members.  I came home with lots of ideas!

Each year we strive to improve the level of service we provide to our members and this year is no exception.  We are designing programs to support the development and excellence of the Total Rewards Professional – You.  Aligned with WorldatWork, we focus our programs on the Total Rewards practice:  compensation, benefits, work-life effectiveness, recognition, performance management and talent management.  This integrated approach helps you attract, motivate, retain and engage a talented workforce.  Please let me know if there’s something specific you would like to experience through CBN.  Your thoughts on how we can improve your member experience are most welcome.

The CBN Steering Committee is delighted to share another feature of the Wild Apricot program – the new CBN website and membership record keeping system that we put into place last fall.  CBN's leadership team is very pleased with the features and functionality that the Wild Apricot platform offers. The ability to integrate member records, calendar items, historical presentations, and in the future, communication via social media, are valuable to your CBN membership.

The new CBN website now offers an automated membership renewal process.  In the coming days, you will be receiving a renewal notice followed by a renewal invoice.  These will be sent automatically, based on a 1-year period from when you last paid your membership fees. Although CBN’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30, membership year will be on a rolling basis.  I encourage you to enlist your coworkers through the Corporate membership and recruit your peers outside of your company to join CBN!
